Ballet All-round wardrobe technician The all-round wardrobe technician in the costume workshop of Dutch National Ballet carries out various preparatory tasks for the costume team, such as painting ballet shoes, and also makes all the crowns, hats, caps and helmets for ballet performances. In most cases, no sewing machine is involved. Headgear for ballets, like this Russian headpiece from The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, often contains so many intricate embroideries, beads and other small parts that they must be meticulously handcrafted.
