Tender for Intensive Use AluShip S-TNDR 620 Standnr: A16 Two years ago, AluShip from Steenwijk won the Boat of the Year award, and since then, more and more aluminum boats from this brand have been appearing on the water. This year, the S-TNDR 620, a new sporty tender with a 150 HP Honda outboard motor, is on display at the Hiswa te Water. Precision A hallmark of AluShip is its sleek hull with a distinctive rubber rub rail all around. The S-TNDR 620 is made from 4 mm thick seawater-resistant aluminum and is expertly welded. The precision of the welds shows that true professionals have worked on this boat. Unlike most other AluShip tenders that have the engine mounted in a well, the S-TNDR has the outboard motor mounted on the transom. The model is available in sizes ranging from 6.20 m to 8.40 m, and if you want any modifications, they can accommodate your requests. If you can imagine it, AluShip can build it. Reliability The S-TNDR boasts a bold, modern design with an elegantly styled stern. The hull features a deep V-shape at the bow and a flatter underwater profile at the stern. When viewed from above, the swim platforms on either side of the engine stand out. The engine is mounted inside the boat, making it less vulnerable. However, you needn’t worry about the durability of the Honda outboard motor, as these are among the strongest and most reliable machines on the market. The S-TNDR 620 can accommodate engines ranging from 20 to 250 HP. We tested the S-TNDR with the Honda BF150. Smooth Power This compact 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, fourstroke engine from Honda delivers 150 HP. It’s packed with advanced technology, including V-TEC for variable valve timing and lift, BLAST (Boosted Low Speed Torque), PGM-Fi (electronic fuel injection) for rapid acceleration, and ECOmo for low fuel consumption. You’ll notice these features on the water and in your wallet. The engine offers the optional IST system for digital throttle and shifting, though the tested boat had an analog throttle lever, which also performed excellently. Tumblehome The sides of the hull have the classic tumblehome shape, narrowing inward at the rear. Between these sides is a beautiful bench, whose backrest also serves as the backrest for the driver’s seat. When removed, a large sunbed is created at the rear. The steering console is simple and fairly wide, leaving limited space to walk between the benches and the console. The cushions are thick, well74
