Artisanal and complete Babro Tridente 44 OC Signature Standnr: B16 Whoever thought the golden days of steel motor yachts were over is mistaken. What is good will always endure. As one steel shipyard after another ceased to exist, others specialized in custom-built yachts of excellent quality. A beautiful example of this is the Babro Tridente 44 OC, made in Sneek, Friesland. Craftsmanship The Babro Tridente 44 OC is an exclusive steel open-cockpit motor yacht that rivals the quality of a superyacht. Quality is always recognizable in the details, and this yacht provides ample examples of the excellent craftsmanship that went into its construction. Babro yachts are sold by Babro Yachting and Smits Jachtmakelaardij, the Frisian shipyard that has been building such exclusive motor yachts for 40 years. 3D Curved The tested Tridente 44 OC Signature is the fully optioned version. It is a multi-chine steel open-cockpit yacht with a striking metallic blue color. The bow is quite straight, and the superstructure features a beautifully shaped roof that slopes down on all sides. The stainless steel rub rail, which encircles the hull like a gleaming necklace, is particularly chic. Noteworthy are the two vault-thick doors in the hull, which make boarding and disembarking easier. The aft deck is fully covered, and under the cockpit floor is the entrance to the engine room, filled with technical marvels. Less is more The front windows are curved, and there are only two window pillars, giving you panoramic views all around. Inside, there’s an abundance of light. One level down, long hull windows on both sides, along with skylights, ensure plenty of daylight in the cabins as well. The chic galley with four electric burners is to port, and opposite is a spacious dinette with two separate tables. The helm station features a freestanding captain’s chair behind a super clean dashboard, where the “less is more” principle applies. You have two large screens for navigation, monitoring systems, and controlling all the electrical equipment. Solid Woodwork The woodwork, with solid oak frames and 66
