15 HISWA TE WATER MAGAZINE Prestigious Awards at Hiswa te Water 2024 Among the 440 boats at Hiswa te Water, you will also find nine particularly special ones. These are the nominees for the Boat of the Year awards. Each year, Hiswa te Water organizes the competition in three categories: Sailing Yachts, Motor Yachts, and Sloops & Tenders. Until July 1st, anyone could nominate a boat. The main conditions are that the boat must be less than 20 meters in length and must have been brought to market after January 1, 2023. This year, a total of 40 nominations were received for these prestigious awards. The jury, composed of water sports journalists and nautical experts, selected three yachts from each category. The jury sails with these nine nominated yachts the weekend before Hiswa te Water to choose the ultimate winners. On August 27, 2024, the evening before the opening of Hiswa te Water, the winners will be announced. It will be clearly marked at the fair which boats have been nominated and which are the ultimate winners. At the time this magazine went to press, the winners of the Boat of the Year awards were not yet known.
